VA Benefits
Women Veterans may be eligible for a wide-variety of benefits available to all U.S. military Veterans. VA benefits include disability compensation, pension, education and training, health care, home loans, insurance, vocational rehabilitation and employment, and burial. See our Veterans page for an overview of the benefits available to all Veterans.
Women Veterans Hotline
While the number of women VA users continues to grow, women comprise only six percent of VA’s total patient population. Women Veterans underutilize VA care and benefits, largely due to a lack of knowledge about VA benefits and available services. In response, the VA has established a Women Veterans hotline—1-855-VA-WOMEN (829-6636) to receive and respond to questions from women Veterans, their families, and caregivers across the nation about available VA services and resources.
Veteran of the Day
Veteran of the Day has been a tradition on VA’s social media pages for more than two years now. Each post gets thousands of views, likes, comments and shares. Since this is a daily publication, we’re always in need for great nominations. If you know a Veteran who deserves to be recognized, please refer to this guide nominate them.
FEDS HIRE VETS
Federal employment information for Veterans, transitioning military service members, and their families

Executive Order 13518, Employment of Veterans in the Federal Government, established the Veterans Employment Initiative and OPM created its Veterans Services Office to provide strategic leadership and direction for the Initiative. Using a strategic, straightforward approach to helping the men and women who have served our country in the military find employment in the Federal Government and helping to align the talents of these individuals with key positions, Veterans Services has better positioned the Government to meet mission objectives and citizens are better served. Veterans Services works across the Federal Government to increase the number of veterans, transitioning military service members, and their families employed and retained in the civil service. Currently, veterans represent approximately 31 percent of the Federal workforce, compared to 25.8 percent before the Executive Order was established.

Mental Health Resources

The demand for mental health resources continues to rise year over year in high threat professions, and yet the mental health care system is barely functioning. Finding resources when needed is difficult to impossible to find and when found, often times these services are not fully covered by insurance, take an exorbitant amount of time for approval, nor are these services always encouraged or supported by employers (federal agencies, military, or civil servant).
